Terms of use
The service provided
Cleerium is an app that helps with personal administrative management. Using the documents entrusted to it by the user, it organises information, helps explain their contents, presents expenses and deadlines, and assists with preparing administrative steps. Available features and any limits depend on the plan selected.
Your documents and account
Your Cleerium account is personal. You may only add your own documents to manage your personal admin.
Keep your login credentials confidential and do not share them with anyone. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, report it to contact@cleerium.com.
You agree not to attempt to access another user’s account or documents or to bypass the app’s protections.
Explanations and verification
Cleerium helps you understand your documents and identify information relevant to your personal admin. Its explanations and reminders complement your documents, which remain the reference for amounts, dates and contractual terms.
Before taking an important step, read the terms in the relevant document. If these differ from information shown in the app, the original document takes precedence. Reminders make it easier to track deadlines, but meeting them remains your responsibility.
The decision remains yours
Cleerium helps you prepare your next steps, but you decide what to do. The app does not sign documents or cancel contracts on your behalf. When a letter is prepared, you review it, adapt it if necessary and download it to send yourself.
Cleerium’s explanations do not replace legal, tax or financial advice tailored to your circumstances.
Plans and subscriptions
Cleerium offers a free plan and a Premium plan. The free plan lets you organise and understand your documents and track expenses and deadlines, within the limits shown in the app. Premium provides higher capacities, additional features and an ad-free experience.
The included features, limits, duration and total price of each subscription, including applicable taxes, are presented before you confirm.
Subscribing and payment
The Premium subscription is purchased within the app and billed by Apple using the payment method associated with your Apple account. Billing information and receipts are available in your Apple account.
Renewal and cancellation
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel renewal before it is due. You can manage it in your iPhone settings by selecting your name, then “Subscriptions” and Cleerium.
Cancelling renewal of a paid subscription allows you to retain Premium access until the end of the period already paid for. The end date is shown in your Apple account. View cancellation instructions.
When Premium expires, your account returns to the free plan and its limits. Previously imported documents remain accessible. Exceeding a limit may restrict new imports or certain uses, without deleting existing documents.
Trials and promotional offers
When a free trial or promotional offer is available, its duration, terms and subsequent price are shown before you sign up. If you do not wish to continue after a free trial, cancel renewal at least twenty-four hours before it ends, in accordance with Apple’s instructions.
Price changes
Prices may change to reflect changes in hosting, storage or document processing costs, applicable taxes or plan contents. Any increase affecting your subscription will be announced before it applies, together with its effective date and reason.
Changes apply to future renewals. You can cancel renewal before they take effect. Where Apple’s rules require your consent, you will be asked for it.
Refunds
Cancelling renewal does not automatically trigger a refund for the current period. For a purchase billed by Apple, you can submit a request through its refund procedure. Requests are assessed according to the applicable terms and your statutory rights.
Account deletion
Deleting your Cleerium account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription. To prevent renewal, you must also cancel it in your Apple account.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Cleerium running smoothly. Temporary interruptions may nevertheless occur during maintenance, updates or technical incidents. We endeavour to limit their duration and restore service as quickly as possible.
If you encounter a problem, you can report it to contact@cleerium.com.
Cleerium remains responsible for fulfilling its obligations under applicable law. In particular, these terms do not exclude liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
Intellectual property
You retain the rights you hold in documents added to Cleerium. Importing them does not transfer any of those rights to Cleerium. Their use by the app is limited to what is necessary to provide the service.
Cleerium’s software, logo, text and visuals belong to their respective rights holders. Access to the app does not authorise you to reproduce, distribute or exploit them without permission, except where permitted by law.
Ending the service and changes to these terms
You can request deletion of your account within the app. Before confirming, remember to retrieve any documents you want to keep. The consequences and processing time are explained during the procedure. The handling of data associated with your account is described in our privacy policy.
If you have a subscription purchased through Apple, deleting your Cleerium account does not automatically cancel it. You must also cancel it in your Apple account settings to prevent renewal.
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or applicable requirements. Any material change will be communicated before it takes effect, with the information needed to understand what is changing.
Privacy policy
Data concerned
Depending on the features you use, Cleerium processes the following data:
- Your account information, including your email address, login identifier and preferences, so you can access your personal space and retrieve your settings.
- The documents you add, such as bills, contracts and letters, to store and organise them in your space.
- Information extracted from your documents, including providers, amounts, dates and contractual terms, to help you understand your personal admin and track your expenses and deadlines.
- Your conversations with the app, including your questions and the answers provided, so you can find explanations again and continue a conversation in context.
- Your communications with our support team, when you contact us, to respond to your request and follow its resolution.
- Technical information relating to the service’s operation, such as login events and errors encountered, to protect your account and resolve technical issues.
The documents you add may contain particularly sensitive information, including health information. This information is also part of the data processed when Cleerium uses a document’s contents to provide its features.
Access and service providers
Your documents are reserved for your personal space. Other Cleerium users cannot view them.
Cleerium uses Google Firebase services to manage account sign-in, store your documents and related information, and perform the processing needed to run the app. Communications with Firebase are encrypted, as are information and files stored in Firestore and Cloud Storage.
Cleerium also uses OpenAI services to interpret your documents and answer your questions. The information transmitted includes the content needed for the requested processing and, where useful, elements from related documents. By default, data transmitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train its models.
These providers process the data necessary for the services they supply to Cleerium.
Use of data
Cleerium uses your data to operate your personal space, organise your documents, help you understand them and keep track of your personal admin. It also uses it to respond to support requests and protect your account.
Your personal data is not sold. The contents of your bills, contracts and letters are not used to build an advertising profile or select the ads shown to you.
If you choose to receive Cleerium news, your email address is also used to send it to you. Signing up is optional, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Security and retention
Cleerium protects your data by encrypting communications and storage, and by applying controls that restrict access to your account and documents.
Your documents are kept in your space for as long as you want them there. Archiving a document lets you keep it without leaving it among your active documents.
When you delete a document, it is placed in the trash for 30 days. You can restore it during this period. After that, it is permanently removed from your space.
Deleting your account also deletes its associated data, except for information that must be retained by law. Some technical copies may remain temporarily in providers’ backups, depending on their deletion schedules. For login data managed by Firebase Authentication, Google states a period of up to 180 days after a deletion request.
Retention of other data
Your conversations with Cleerium are kept in your space so you can find your questions and explanations again. You can request their deletion at contact@cleerium.com. They are also covered by account deletion.
Communications with our support team are retained while your request is being handled and for twelve months after it is closed, for follow-up purposes.
Technical data used to detect errors and protect the service is kept for a maximum of ninety days. Information needed to investigate an identified incident may be retained longer, while it is being resolved. Additional retention may also be necessary to meet a legal obligation or handle a dispute; it remains limited to the information concerned.
If you sign up only to be notified at launch, your email address is removed from that list no later than three months after the announcement is sent. If you also choose to receive news, it continues to be used for that purpose until you unsubscribe.
Withdrawing your consent
Where use of your data is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. For news, use the unsubscribe link in each email. For any other consent-related request, write to contact@cleerium.com.
Withdrawing consent ends the relevant uses going forward. It does not affect previous processing or automatically delete your account. Unsubscribing from news does not affect your access to Cleerium.
Your rights and requests
You may ask what personal data Cleerium holds about you and how it is used. You may also request correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your data and, where the legal conditions are met, provision of your data in a format that allows reuse or transfer to another service.
To exercise these rights or ask about your data, contact us at contact@cleerium.com. We may request the information needed to verify your identity and avoid disclosing your information to someone else.
If a legal obligation requires us to retain certain data or limits how we can respond to your request, we will explain why.
Launch notification and news
When you sign up to be notified about Cleerium’s launch, your email address is used to announce its availability in Switzerland on the App Store.
You can also choose to receive app news by ticking the relevant box. This is optional and separate from the launch announcement: you can ask to be notified when Cleerium is released without subscribing to its news.
Each news email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also contact us at contact@cleerium.com to request removal of your address from our lists.
